Digitata's Dynamic Tariffing™ - Latest Versions

Digitata is pleased to announce that version 4.1 of our popular Dynamic Tariffing™ System (DTS) has been released. Version 4.1 offers the latest functionality, following continuous evolution of this product over a period of 6 years in conjunction with our customers.

Features introduced in Dynamic Tariffing™ Version 4.1

Customers installing DTS 4.1 will enjoy the following new features and benefits:

  • Dynamic Bandwidth Control
  • Subscriber Notification Service (SNS)
  • Operational Support Interface
  • Report Favourites
  • New Improved Portal graphical user interface

Dynamic Bandwidth Control

The dynamic bandwidth control feature provides operators with the opportunity to manage network bandwidth more efficiently by:

  • Providing the opportunity to monetise unused network capacity by up-selling it as an optional feature. This feature could be marketed to subscribers in several ways for example:
    -    Subscribers could purchase a limited bandwidth package that offers an “upgrade” to additional bandwidth when the network is quiet.
    -    Subscribers could be sold volume capped packages and when the cap is reached they could go on to a throttled service where the throttling is determined by the network load.
  • Advising subscribers of the available bandwidth on the serving cell and thus proactively modifying subscriber usage behaviour, to avoid network congestion, and improving Quality of Experience (QoE) for all.
  • To improve utilisation of the data network over the full 24 hour cycle to optimise return on investment.

The Customer Communication Centre (CCC) solution provides a single point of entry for user equipment to retrieve information made available to the subscriber. The subscriber can initiate a lookup from a laptop, a smart phone or a 3G feature phone by initiating an HTTP/HTTPS request towards CCC to get the planned or actual bandwidth details.

Subscriber Notification Service (SNS)

The Subscriber Notification Service (SNS) allows operators to communicate easily and effectively with their subscribers without manual intervention.

The service automatically generates and sends messages to subscribers at important times during the subscribers’ lifecycle. SNS makes use of SMS to communicate with subscribers.

The SNS module generates customisable messages for lifecycle events detected in the CDR processing system. Registration messages, weekly savings messages, and deregistration messages are sent to subscribers.

SNS also allows for customised messages to be sent on demand to:

  • all DT subscribers;
  • all non-DT subscribers; and
  • customised lists of subscribers.

SNS assists the operator to increase product understanding and grow subscriber loyalty.

Operational Support Interface

DTS 4.1 introduces a totally new operational support interface. The integration of Zabbix alarming allows operators to easily monitor all aspects of the system, including hardware, OS, application, and business performance.

Any issue that might affect the performance or stability of the entire system can be easily identified. Alarms can be escalated in a variety of ways, including to Digitata’s 24/7 remote monitoring centre. Of special interest is that business process alarms can be escalated to business users/analysts to identify critical issues that might not seem apparent to purely technical staff.

Report Favourites

The new Report Favourites function, accessible via the Portal, allows a set of favourite reports to be defined to make them easily accessible.

The reports and the frequency at which they must be generated can be selected. When the reports have been selected, they appear in a list that is displayed when logging into Portal.

These reports can also be automatically e-mailed to specified recipients in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and PDF formats.

New Improved Portal Graphical User Interface

In DTS 4.1 the DT Portal has undergone a comprehensive facelift. The new Portal is more intuitive for users, and more aesthetically appealing.
