Malcolm Moller - Chairman

Mr Malcolm Moller was appointed as Director in June 2008. He is also currently the Managing Partner of Appleby in Mauritius and Seychelles.

He specialises in advising financial institutions on financial regulation, regulatory capital issues, financial institution M&A, and insurance related transactions. Malcolm advises on private equity funds, hedge funds, derivatives transactions and securities offerings, as well as a range of corporate and corporate finance transactions.

Malcolm has extensive experience representing corporations, financial institutions and other principals. Prior to joining Appleby, Malcolm worked for various law firms, where he gained significant experience in corporate and insurance related transactions.

Malcolm was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1998, Solicitor and Barrister of the High Court of Australia in 1999, a Solicitor of England and Wales (non-practising) in January 2003, and Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of Bermuda in 2004. He was registered as a foreign lawyer in Mauritius in 2009 in accordance with the provisions of the Law Practitioners Regulations (2008). Malcolm also obtained a Master of Laws Degree in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia in 2000. Malcolm is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Law Society of Australia.

Gilbert Noel - Director

Mr Gilbert Noel was appointed as Director in June 2008. He is also currently the Partner of Appleby and practises in the area of company, corporate and financial services law. He was previously a consultant for four years in the financial services sector. Thereafter, he practised as an attorney and was the adviser to the Minister of Financial Services and Corporate Affairs.

Gilbert holds a BA in Economics and Finance from Brigham Young University, U.S and a law degree from the University of London. He was a founder member and is currently the vice chairman of the International Fiscal Association of Mauritius.

Ted Bartlett - Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Ted joined Digitata as a Director in January 2009. He has a recent history of establishing and commercialisation of startup companies in the software, telecommunications and oil exploration industries (focusing on new technology developments), having been involved in 5 companies over the last 10 years.

Ted holds an MSc in Chaos Theory from University of New Brunswick, Canada and a BSc in Surveying Engineering from the University of Natal, South Africa.

Des Griggs - Product Specialist

Des joined Digitata in 2009 from his position as CTO of Rorotika Technologies, a post which he held for 2 years and focussed extensively on Dynamic Tariffing.

Prior to that he spent 13 years with MTN working on various projects within the Network Group, but primarily he was a Technical Specialist in the area of Radio Planning & Optimisation. During his time at MTN Des participated in the commercialisation of a number of software applications.

Des holds an MSc in Physics & Electronics from Rhodes University, South Africa and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Conal Lewer-Allen - Chief Commercial Officer

Conal joined Digitata as a Director in 2009 and also holds the position of Chief Commercial Officer, focusing on the commercial aspects of the business.

Before joining Digitata he acted as an independent advisor to various companies in the telecommunications industry. Prior to this, he held the role of Technical Director at Actix, focusing on the take-to-market strategy of their network optimisation tools. Previously, Conal was the Technical Director at ComOpt, responsible for the development of automatic frequency and cell planning tools.

He started his career at MTN South Africa where he formed part of the Radio Network Planning and Optimisation team.

Tim Fourie - Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

Tim was appointed CTO of Digitata in 2010 following his previous role in Rorotika Technologies.

Previously, Tim spent 14 years in MTN South Africa managing teams responsible for network strategy, planning and optimisation of the mobile RAN network. During his time at MTN he was involved in the delivery of several innovative projects including the first commercial Dynamic Tariffing product

Tim holds a Baccalaureus degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from University of Witwatersrand

Hilton Goodhead - Strategic Solutions Director

Hilton was appointed Strategic Solutions Director at Digitata in August 2012. Hilton is a co-founder of Rorotika Technologies where he held the positions of COO, CTO and CEO betweeen 2006 and 2012.

Prior to that he spent some 13 years with MTN South Africa where he gained extensive expertise in Radio Network Planning and Optimisation in his various positions as Programme Director, General Manager and National Manager, amongst others. He also worked in the area of VHF/UHF Radio Propagation Services during a 6 year tenure at the CSIR. Hilton has accumulated some 25 years of experience in the telecoms industry.

He holds an MSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Natal and has authored numerous papers for presentation at cellular industry conferences. He is also an external examiner and mentor for university students.

Brian Collett - Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Brian was appointed CIO of Digitata following his role as Business Intelligence specialist in Rorotika Technologies.

Previously, Brian spent 13 years in MTN South Africa managing a team responsible for software integration, development and data analysis in the Radio Planning & Optimisation group. Prior to that, he worked for Eskom for 7 years, finally as senior manager, planning the radio network and SCADA systems for the north-western region.

Brian holds a B Engineering (Electronics) from Pretoria University, South Africa.

Ronel Visagie - Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Ronel was appointed CFO of Digitata in January 2009. She previously held a number of senior financial positions including CFO of MTN Swaziland and Rorotika Technologies.

Ronel has a broad range of experience across many industries from the retail and food industry, through to travel and banking. However, the bulk of her career has been spent in the telecommunications sector where she has worked in different capacities for both the Network Operator and Service Provider spanning a period of 10 years.

Ronel is a Chartered Accountant (CA, SA) and holds a BCompt Hons from the University of South Africa and a BCom Accounting from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Dave Wilkinson - Director

Dave joined Digitata as a Director in 2010, focusing on the sales and marketing activities of the company.

Before joining Digitata, he held the position of CEO at Commprove for 2 years. Prior to that, he held the role of CEO at Actix (having previously served as COO), driving product development and global business expansion, and establishing the company’s engineering and sales groups in both Europe and North America.

Earlier in his career Dave was also a key contributor to the growth of Metrica (now IBM), where he pioneered the sale and acceptance of performance management software in mobile operators. He brings with him valuable experience from multiple start-ups in the communication industry.

Gorsel Baksi - Business Development Director: Europe and Middle East

Gorsel joined Digitata as Business Development Director in 2011. He is responsible for sales and business development activities across emerging markets of EECIS and MENA.

Prior to joining Digitata, Gorsel was responsible for sales for the Oracle Communications portfolio, focusing on the OSS/BSS domain. Gorsel joined Oracle, via the acquisition of MetaSolv where he was responsible for developing alliances and partnerships. He also worked at Axiom Systems where he headed up the presales team.

Gorsel comes from a technical background, holding a BSc EE from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. He has spent the last 15 years in the telecoms industry, working across EMEA, and acquiring an extensive understanding of the industry.

Freddie Cheung - Business Development Director: Asia

Freddie has more than 20 years of sales experience, with the 12 years since 1999 focusing on the mobile industry.

In the year 2000, Freddie won three new deals in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong for Sonera SmartTrust’s pioneering wireless Public Key Infrastructure platform in a period of less than 18 months. Subsequently, Freddie joined Actix as Regional Sales Director for Asia, a position he held for 5 years. He was successful in penetrating and dominating various markets in Asia for Actix and in winning some of the largest deals for Actix Asia.

Prior to joining Digitata, Freddie was the Regional Sales Director of Arantech, where he focused on growing its business in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.
